Mother's Day: Make It A Day To Remember
For An Aging Parent

Eldercare expert Esther Koch provides insight into how boomers can make Mother's Day a day whose memories can live on.

San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) April 11, 2007 -- Too often sentiments of love and gratitude for an aging parent are left unexpressed or not expressed enough.  For some, the feelings may need to be found first.  "Mother's Day should be a day for boomers to express love and gratitude to their mother," states eldercare advisor and caregiver Esther Koch.  "It may take some forgiveness, but a little forgiveness can eliminate years of regret," says Koch.  Anyone can begin anew this Mother's Day.  "Focus on the expression of personal sentiments and the results will be memorable not just for your aging parent, but also for you," says Koch.

Gratitude is best expressed in the smallest, most thoughtful of ways.  It is expressed in words from the heart.  First, take the time to find a Mother's Day card with a message that truly reflects something you would say to your mother.  Buy a second copy of that card.  Then find an inspirational message.  Koch says her favorite is, "My life is blessed because you are my mother."

"Each time I say it to my mother I can just see it lift her heart," says Koch.

Then, focus only on the positive ways that your mother influenced your life.  Now read the card to your mother with feeling.  Then read the inspirational message.  Whether you read to your mother in person or over the phone, continue to read the card and message often in the months and even years to come.  "I have a collection of cards from over the years that I frequently read to my mother; joy lights up her face whenever I read them," says Koch.

"Celebrate your mother today and everyday; the results will be memorable," Koch concludes.

"May your life be filled with no regrets; may you see the extraordinary in the ordinary; and may someone be there to brighten your world as you age," Esther Koch
